FAQ
Here we will answer some of the most frequently asked questions you may have.
Compassion is a Christian organization dedicated to child development through remote sponsorship. Our mission has two objectives: to free children from economic, physical, social, and spiritual poverty, and to help them become responsible adults.
In the same way, we wish for everyone to hear our voice to inspire, motivate, and educate in defending the rights and lives of all children living in extreme poverty.
Compassion exists to advocate for children and free them from physical, economic, social, and spiritual poverty, as well as to help them become mature and responsible adults.
Children enrolled in Compassion's sponsorship program receive, among many other things:
- Vocational training and educational assistance
- Medical assistance and food
- Personal guidance for individual development
- Attention and affection from local staff
- A safe Christian environment where they can grow
The mission of Compassion was born from the heart of a man deeply moved by the orphans of the Korean War in 1952. Everett Swanson witnessed firsthand the hardships these children faced and decided that something needed to be done to address this situation.
When he returned to his homeland, Everett organized a program that provided food, shelter, education, medical assistance, and Christian training to Korean orphans. These principles continue to be the fundamental pillars of Compassion's program to this day.
